We’re ready to take your science adventure to the next level!
Whether you’re venturing to Adventure Science Center for the day or want to have programs brought to you, we offer a wide variety of STEAM programming that aligns with the updated Tennessee Science Grade Level Expectations (GLEs).
Explore our current program and planetarium offerings, then choose at least 2 possible dates for your field trip. You are required to have 1 adult per every 7 students. These chaperones are admitted for free. Field trips must be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance, while additional STEM Labs must be booked at least 4 weeks in advance.
Pro tip: Spring is a busy field trip season; plan a trip for October through February to avoid the crowds.
Estimate the total number of students, school teachers and required chaperones planning to attend with your school, as well as the travel time from your school. Please make it clear that any adults who want to come on the field trip must pay the teacher before the field trip in order to receive the group rate. Any chaperones who arrive the day of the trip who have not paid the teacher must wait until 10 a.m. for entry and pay regular admission price.
You may request reservations. If you have any questions, please call (615) 862-5177. Please let the group reservationist know if special accommodations are needed, such as an ASL interpreter, wheelchairs or other assistance for children. If you have children with sensory or anxiety issues, please let us know and we can loan you a sensory kit in trade for an I.D. Learn more about our accessibility.
Look for your welcome packet to come in an email within 2 weeks of registration. Carefully review all registration information and call immediately with questions or concerns. Be sure to have all forms filled out prior to arrival.
Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to any scheduled program with an updated, accurate count of all students and adults. The lead school representative will be escorted inside to check-in and pay while a science educator conducts orientation on your bus. After orientation, it’s time to embark on your adventure!
A school identifier (either school nametags or matching shirts) is required and will not be provided by the science center. Teacher and chaperone nametags will be provided at check-in. Have all of your students broken into groups and chaperones assigned prior to leaving the school. We do not have room for groups to effectively get organized at Adventure Science Center—please do this before arriving to the museum.
After Hours Adventures
Due to COVID-19, we have made the decision to temporarily suspend after hours activities. We will begin offering these experiences again when it is safe to do so!
Make your next field trip extraordinary!
Grade level expectation-fulfilling science and technology labs, and classes emphasizing hands-on, interactive learning experiences designed and led by engaging educators with degrees in the sciences are available. If you’re just planning on bringing your group in to visit the exhibitions, ask about the scavenger hunts we have available for free to help guide and add structure to your adventure!
Our homeschool classes bring hands-on, minds-on explorations of chemistry, physics and meteorology. Each lesson builds on the foundation laid during the previous class.
Let our educators bring valuable STEAM experiences directly to your community, school or library. Choose up to 2 programs per date from a variety of Science In Motion options. All activities meet Tennessee Science Standards.
